Dear Children's Supper Hour

In November 2009, our church joined other churches of The American Baptist Churches USA in The Penny Project.  This project was begun by a youth group in New London, New Hampshire, and the idea was to collect 14 million pennies nationwide; to raise change for Change.  Each penny was to represent one child or youth who lives in poverty in the United States and Puerto Rico.  While a national website kept the overall total, the money raised by each church or group was to stay in its local community and be given to organizations that help alleviate poverty among children and youth.

We are pleased to donate our change from The Penny project to the Children's Supper Hour.  The work you do with some of the lowest income children in our community is extraordinary.  Not only do you feed them physically but also spiritually, increasing their self-worth, and beginning that process of helping each of them to be an agent of change.  We are pleased to be able to contribute to your work.

Please accept the enclosed check in the amount of $537.68.  May God continue to work through your program to change the lives of children and youth in our community.

Sincerely Mark Estrop
Pastor, Rolling Prairie Baptist Church

The Church shows me love

6/30

Ms. Vicky,

Hey Ms Vicky! How you been? Well I’ve been coming to this church for almost 2 years and enjoy every minute of it. For the simple fact this is the only enjoyment I get because my mom is always working and my dad is not even in our life.

April was our last time coming beside yesterday (6/29) because we moved far north to get away from the drama, my mom said. But to me it is not working. That’s why whenever we get a chance to go to your church we hurry up and get in the car and go!!!

Yesterday you said the program is only for 13 & under. But I’m 15 and what 15 years old loves coming to the program and enjoy every minute of it with the young kids!

I could be a help if you want me to also!

I love this church!

My mom struggles and is working extra hard for her beautiful girls! But there is no show for it. She doesn’t have any of our school clothing or supplies. Nothing because when she goes out to buy, then something always goes wrong.

Example: Its either our lights getting turned off or our gas and she has to pay the bills first in order for us to eat, or take a bath! That’s why we have nothing yet!

But, Ms Vicky, all I am trying to say is I love your church and the program I still want to come if your are willing to let me. Plus I want to know more about Jesus.

Well thanks for reading and taking the time to!
