Our Mission

Our mission is to provide warm meals and activities in a safe, nurturing, Christian environment while responding to the spiritual and social needs of our neighborhood children ages 2 to 14.

Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors has always been our policy.  We show all children they are loved and cherished by serving them a nourishing meal in a safe and loving Christian environment. Regardless of the adversities our children face, our volunteers consistently strive to make all children feel welcome and special. 

Our neighborhood has the highest percentage of child poverty and the greatest incident of crime in the city. Gangs and drug dealers are more prevalent than positive role models.

Many of our neighborhood children are at-risk. They are subjected to many of the risk factors identified as stumbling blocks which would prevent them from achieving their full potential in adulthood.

We provide the children with: 

• A warm nutritious meal, prepared by a certified food handler

• A variety of activities in a safe environment with lots of hugs and praise

• School supplies as well as assistance with homework

• Help with basic social skills

• Personal hygiene items

• Used clothing
